The PEESA III Meeting Nr. 7 was held on the 21-24 January 2020 at Vaal University of Technology (VUT) in Vanderbijlpark, South Africa. The Meeting was attended by all the partner universities’ representatives. The Meeting was organised and hosted by VUT.
The PEESA III Meeting was opened by Prof. Riana vd Bank, DVC: Academic and Research, VUT. She spoke about cooperation between PEESA III universities.

During the PEESA III Meeting the South Africa’s partners reported on the current status of developed master programmes and equipment to be used for the delivery of these master programmes, Mutual Recognition Agreements, Self-Assessment Report for EUR-ACE accreditation, Gender equality, Dissemination materials on PEESA III, etc. Issues and their solutions as well as further development of the PEESA III Project were disclosed. Formal requirements for the reimbursement of purchased equipment were clarified and explained in detail. The plan of the Final International Dissemination Event was discussed. Organisational issues of the Final International Dissemination Event were identified. During the PEESA III Meeting at VUT, the participants visited VUT Science and Technology Park, Sebokeng.

For the development of further cooperation between university, local government and enterprise, the Meeting included discussions with the representative of local government, company Arcelor Mittal plant Vereeniging, company SASOL, company Med International.
Moreover, cooperation between university, local government and enterprise was strengthened by the visit to the company “ArcelorMittal”.
Dr. Martin Foerster from ASIIN carried our individual consultations on further procedure for finalizing Self-Assessment Reports with the representatives of all the South Africa’s partner universities.
PEESA III sustainability issues was paid a lot of attention. Discussions focused on the following activities, especially PEESA III: Dissemination event to be carried out at CPUT in September 2020, Exploitation Plan, Website, Further directions for development, etc.
For the interdisciplinary purposes on the development and implementation of master study programmes in engineering as well as partners’ networking activities and opportunities among the PEESA III stakeholders, the PEESA III participants visited Lion farm and Vredefort Dome.
